On October 20th, 2011 in Oslo, Norway a workshop by the Norwegian Association of professional tourism companies took place. Jūrmala presented its tourism offer and complex health tourism offers to the Norwegian tourism companies. Norway is an important tourism market for Jūrmala and 4% out of all tourists in Jūrmala are from Norway. Every year tourists from Norway come for resort and SPA treatments as it is of high quality, but for much more affordable prices. Latvia and Jūrmala becomes a popular destination for Norwegian tourists also because of Air Baltic flight destinations in Norway that cover largest Norwegian cities like Oslo, Bergen and Stavanger and flight offered by Norwegian Air to Riga from Alesund, Bergen, Bodo, Oslo, Kristiansand, Stavanger, Tromso, Trondheim etc.

Jūrmala is actively carrying out different tourism marketing activities in Norway – participating in Norway’s tourism workshops, working with Norwegian tourism companies and mass media, as well as implementing different other activities like traditional edition of Jūrmala’s tourism brochure in Norwegian language to attract tourists from this country.
