On October 25th, 2011 Jūrmala City Council in cooperation with the airline "airBaltic" held a health tourism workshop in Tel Aviv.Jūrmala tourism workshop was opened by the Latvian Ambassador to Israel Mārtiņš Perts and the chairman of Jūrmala City Council Mr. Gatis Truksnis.Tourism workshop presented health tourism offer of Jūrmala resort, as well as tourism and tourism facilities investment projects. Airline "AirBaltic" informed the Israeli tourism companies and journalists about the attractive flights to Latvia. The event showed great interest about the health offer of Jūrmala, and 86 meetings with tour operators were held.

Israeli market is a promising tourism market for Jūrmala resort as tourists from this country have historically favoured resort treatment and SPA services in Jūrmala resort because of   high quality and relatively low prices.Also, the average length of Israeli tourists' stay in Jūrmala is relatively long - approximately one week.In 2011 Jūrmala has already hosted Israeli journalist and tourism companies' delegations in February and April, as well as in summer.

It is planned to have another visit by Israeli tourism companies during the winter to build a complex tourist offers about Jūrmala for the Israeli tourism company catalogues.
